We’re Getting the Jared Leto Joker Movie Nobody Asked For

Jared Leto’s Joker Set for Standalone Movie at Warner Bros.
While I think it's fair to give Leto a shot playing the Joker in a movie that gives him more screen time, I'm a little concerned that focusing on the Joker as the main character will ruin the appeal of the character for many.
A Joker movie starring Jared Leto is officially happening!
Variety added that the plan is to "expand on the world created by "Suicide Squad" and tie into future installments of that property".
When Warner Bros. announced last fall that it was developing a Jokerorigin tale from Todd Phillips, the studio emphasized that this did not mean the end for Leto's Joker. It's going to be very interesting to see how Warner Bros. and DC Films are able to pull off such an ambitious move with one of the most iconic comic book villains in history. No plot details are known as of now, but Leto will also executive produce the movie.
Warner Bros.is working on a standalone movie focusing on the 46-year-old actor's villainous character, Variety reports.
Those films will allow the studio to tell new stories based on the same characters but with no overlap with their current DC Extended Universe (DCEU) which includes Ben Affleck's Batman, Henry Cavill's Superman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.
Leto and the studio are now looking for a writer for the project, but there's no start date in place.
"The Joker is somebody who doesn't really respect things like personal space or boundaries", Leto explained of his method "antics" back in the Suicide Squad days.
A Suicide Squad sequel is also in the post, due to go into production in 2019, and that's aside from the now in-development The Batman from Matt Reeves, helmsman of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes.
The internet has not reacted positively to the news of Leto getting his own movie.
