The 7 biggest Apple Watch features coming in watchOS 5

Apple introduces watchOS 5
It will offer more predictive and proactive shortcuts throughout the day based on routines, locations and information such as heart rate after a workout, commute time with Maps at the appropriate time of day or sports scores for a favourite team.
Despite being one of the first truly successful smartwatches, support for the Apple Watch, at least from third-party developers, has been dwindling.
The Apple Watch Series 1 was announced alongside the Apple Watch 2 in 2016 and replaced the original generation of the Apple Watch in the company's line up of wearables.
WatchOS5 will also support interactive notifications, allowing users to take actions immediately from within a compatible notification.
watchOS 5 integrates webKit with Apple Watch, letting you view web content from your wrist. First up is the ability to challenge your friends to 7-day workout competitions.
When Apple's new Apple Watch software arrives this fall, one group of users will be left out of the update: those who shelled out for the $10,000 Apple Watch Edition. Some new features need better processing to work and the older a machine is, the less powerful it can be. This helps if a user forgets to hit the End Workout button. Rolling Mile Pace is being added for outdoor runs, plus a custom pace alert, and Cadence. The feature uses Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity to enable voice communication with any Apple Watch user available around the globe. If they accept it, you can then walkie-talkie them at any time.
Users will also be able to answer FaceTime calls as audio, add cities to weather, access a new emoji picker, access air quality and wind direction/speed in the weather app, add stocks, customise the control centre and much more. The wearable had already reached the point of being unusable with watchOS 4 so it is not surprising that Apple made a decision to drop support for it with the latest release of the OS.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said on stage that Apple Watch sales grew 60% in 2017.
watchOS 5 also brings the Apple Podcasts app to the wrist. Additionally, Student ID cards can be synchronized to the Apple Watch, starting in the fall at a handful of universities. As far as new features of the tvOS 12 is concerned, Apple has announced zero sign-on.
