New Rape Allegation Made Against Harvey Weinstein
New rape allegations have surfaced against disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, and one accuser says she has video evidence.
The other two women in the class-action lawsuit are Caitlin Dulany, who accused Weinstein of performing nonconsensual oral sex on her in Cannes, France in 1996, and Larissa Gomes who says Weinstein forced her to kiss him and groped her breasts in 2000.
Then, he allegedly raped her in his NY hotel room.
Thompson claims Weinstein, who was indicted this week in New York City, raped her in 2011 after luring her to his hotel room for a meeting about her internet startup.
Thompson's lawsuit stated she had audio and video proof of the assault, however alleges she was tricked by Weinstein's protection lawyer Ben Brafman into giving it to him.
The federal lawsuit claims Weinstein and others at the film company Miramax, and later The Weinstein Co, ran what amounted to a criminal organisation - as defined under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organisations Act - to "facilitate and hide his pattern of unwanted sexual conduct".
Brafman defended Weinstein on the steps of the court house in NY last Friday after the disgraced producer was taken there in handcuffs to face charges.
United States to Impose Steel Tariffs on EU But Macron said those "who waged bilateral trade wars. saw an increase in prices and an increase in unemployment". In terms of the NAFTA talks, the tariffs could hinder the negotiations among the North American neighbors.
Vance revealed that an investigation into Weinstein's alleged crimes "remains active and ongoing" and slammed what he described as Weinstein's "recent assault on the integrity of the survivors and the legal process". She was lead to believe he was part of the team defending Weinstein's victims.
Brafman said that if Spiro ever spoke with or met with any of these women, he did it on his own time after he left the Brafman law group and joined another firm.
They are suing Weinstein - as well as Miramax and The Weinstein Company - for assault, battery and racketeering.
According to the complaint, Thompson was not told the Brafman firm was actually working for Weinstein.
"I never have and I never would represent Harvey Weinstein".
Weinstein allegedly did not have time to testify to the jury as he only learned the women's names on Friday.
Their lawsuit is seeking class-action status, which will allow it to represent what it claims is "hundreds of women" who have been victimised by Weinstein.
