Michael Rotondo speaks to reporters before leaving his parents home in Camillus New York
It's a little less common for that son to be 30 years old - and still less common for his parents' "encouragement" to take the form of a court order.
Millennial Michael Rotondo is finally moving out of his parents' upstate NY home - thanks to conservative host Alex Jones who gave him $3,000 to help him move.
CNY Central tracked down a Michael Rotondo from the Albany area who now lives in California, but is the same age as the one in Camillus (who goes by "Mike") and shows up in searches because they're both from Upstate New York.
Rotondo had avoided TV crews staked out on the upstate NY road earlier Friday morning by leaving from the back, but returned around 9:30 a.m.in the passenger seat of a pickup truck. Instead, the father offered to look for specific items and, if he found them, bring them out. "While the police were there, the Legos were located and there was no further incident".
But Michael Rotondo did not heed their deadlines, and his parents filed for an ejectment proceeding.
After the court hearing, an Onondaga County Supreme Court Justice ordered him out by 12 p.m. Friday.
He said he felt "great" about the move but maintained he wouldn't continue his relationship with his parents.
"Get one - you have to work!"
He gave an extensive interview to the Daily Mail about his 8-year-old son, claiming his problems with his parents stem from his attempts to regain custody rights to the boy.
Greenwood ruled in favour of Rotondo's parents, Mark and Christina, setting into motion the 30-year-old's eviction.
"Rotondo said that wasn't good enough and called police".
After flying the nest, Mr Rotondo reportedly plans to spend a week at an Airbnb rental in Syracuse - paid for with media appearances stemming from his eviction - before moving in with a distant cousin. "I don't have to guess what's behind Door No. 1".
