The latest HomePod update, available with iOS 11.4, will be rolled out to Apple devices progressively, and will fulfil promises Apple made when it launched HomePod in February. It brings multi-room audio support and stereo pairing to the HomePod and Apple TV devices. Multi-room audio lets HomePods synchronize music playback in different rooms, while the other feature allows users to pair two HomePods next to each other to create stereo sound.
Apple's iOS 11.4 update has been released, and with Messages in iCloud support, there's more to it than just AirPlay 2.
iCloud support for "Messages" was one of the most talked about features during the announcement of iOS 11.
Not only were these features first teased 12 months ago, they were part of several iOS 11 betas, but rescinded from final public software update each update.
Messages in iCloud, meanwhile, has been even more eagerly anticipated. So, you can keep your photos and videos stored in iCloud Photo Library, or your documents saved to iCloud Drive, or ensure all your text messages are up to date across your devices via Messages in iCloud.
Apple has posted a list of speakers and receivers that will support AirPlay 2. The update brings the much-anticipated AirPlay 2 transfer protocol, announced at WWDC back in June last year and initially planned to reach Apple devices via iOS 11 in the third quarter of last year. Like AirPlay 2, this feature has bounced in and out of iOS betas, having originally been announced at WWDC previous year. Deleting a message on one device would remove it from all your devices. If you don't see the update, try again a little later. Your HomePod should update automatically, too; however, if you want to get your HomePod running on iOS 11.4 asap you can trigger that manually, too. Finally, there's a fix for distorted CarPlay audio, as well as audio over Bluetooth or USB in certain cars. In addition to using Siri or individual apps to control speaker selection and music playback, all AirPlay 2 devices available in a home will show up in iOS' Control Center.

Weekend sleep-ins are good for you
On the flip side, those who slept more than eight hours a night had higher mortality rates as well. That, Dr Akerstedt said, was perhaps because older individuals got the sleep they needed.
