In total, 42 people, including 19 Iranians, were killed over two days of strikes - from Tuesday to Thursday - according to the Observatory.

The Golan Heights are Syrian territory occupied by Israel in 1967 and annexed in 1981. The Observatory said at least 15 were killed in the strike, eight of them Iranians, including a member of the Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards.

In April, Israel carried out an attack on the T-4 air base in Homs, killing a number of fighters including Iranians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran had "crossed a red line" and that Israel's bombardment against targets in Syria was "a consequence".

"They need to remember the saying that if it rains on us, it'll storm on them".

Israel has long warned it will not accept Iran entrenching itself militarily in neighboring Syria, where Iran backs Assad's regime in the country's seven-year civil war.

Israeli forces have been blamed for a series of recent strikes inside Syria that have killed Iranians, though it has not acknowledged those raids.

Lowry said the Raptors still hadn't adjusted to playoff basketball, and needed to learn how to change things on the fly. The Raptors' historic season came after Ujiri called for a "culture reset" last off-season.

Since then, Israel was anticipating a payback from Iran, particularly with all the wrangling about Iran's global nuclear deal, as Israel has been a staunch opponent to the deal along with President Donald Trump, who announced his country's withdrawal from the deal on May 8.

The deal, signed between Iran and world powers, including Russian and the United States, had eased economic sanctions on Iran in return for the country reducing its nuclear programme.

All other signatories had sought to maintain the agreement.

An image released on May 10, 2018 by the government-affiliated "Central War Media" in Syria purportedly shows Syrian air defence systems intercepting Israeli missiles over Damascus' airspace.

"I will take this opportunity to send a message to Assad: Get rid of the Iranians. get rid of the Quds Force", Lieberman said during a tour in the town of Katzrin in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

"Iran strongly condemns. [Israel's] attacks on Syria".

"What is necessary is that we look at reality as it is not as we wish it to be we wish that there was an Iranian leadership that was desirous of peace, whose hand was outstretched in peace as is ours, who didn't call for our annihilation, who didn't attempt to gobble up the Middle East and impose theocratic dictatorship".
