One thing was missing from Mark Zuckerberg's big speech — and it signals a major shift for Facebook

With Facebook for Dating, you're either out or way too far in

Tens of millions of Facebook users saw their personal data compromised in the Cambridge Analytica breach, as revealed earlier this year. During his opening keynote, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new privacy tool named Clear History.

"Apps and websites that use features such as the Like button or Facebook Analytics send us information to make their content and ads better", Facebook Vice President and Chief Privacy Officer Erin Egan explained in a blog post.

Facebook will launch a new feature on its app later this year that will allow users to create a dating profile and match with potential love interests, the company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced at the annual F8 conference held in San Jose on Tuesday.

A Facebook dating service makes ideal sense; in fact, it's a wonder that it hasn't happened sooner.

"There are 200 million people on Facebook who list themselves as single, so clearly there's something to do here", Zuckerberg said. He promised that Facebook was making "good promise" on fighting fake news, but also admitted that some of these problems could never really be solved.

New York Times obtains questions that special counsel wants to ask Trump
AP's Eric Tucker gives context to this latest development in the story about the Russian Federation investigation. Flynn about seeking immunity or possible pardon?" "He was insane , a real nut job", Trump told the Russians.

As part of its efforts to tackle the issue, the social network is carrying out an audit of other apps and has restricted developers' access to some of its data.

Dan Goldstein, president of digital marketing agency Page 1 Solutions highlighted Facebook's announcement it would let users clear their browsing history from the platform as a sign the company "is getting the message" about privacy. Facebook executives - including Zuckerberg - recently weathered hours-long testimony to the United States Congress and British Parliament, along with worldwide media pressure over its data privacy practices. Tastemade wants to make sure they make the cut.

"We built the largest fully encrypted communication network in the world", Zuckerberg said. He added, "We think this is how a lot of people are going to experience virtual reality for the fist time".

In the light of the Cambridge Analytica incident, the past few weeks have been troublesome for Facebook, to say the least. Only people who use the dating service will be able to see other parties' profiles.

A United Kingdom parliamentary inquiry has again called on Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg to appear in Westminster for questioning after an appearance by his chief technology officer at a public session last week still was deemed "unsatisfactory".
