Vice President Mike Pence, attending an global summit on Saturday, claimed he backs President Trump's assertion earlier in the day from the afternoon which the US -led airstrikes that weekend at Syria led to "mission realized", And he warned Syrian president Russian Federation that it was "around the incorrect side of record".

Pence, who was also scheduled to meet with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, struck a notably confident tone, saying USA officials "think we're close" and were "encouraged at the progress of our negotiations".

Pence said Saturday in a meeting with Peruvian President Martín Vizcarra at the Summit of the Americas in Lima that he's grateful for Vizcarra's role in withdrawing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's invitation to the summit.

Pence said he was "very hopeful" that Mexico, Canada and the USA were close to an agreement on the negotiated trade pact. He warned that if it could not be overhauled to better protect US interests, Washington would pull out of the pact.

"It was the same thing I agreed to with Prime Minister Trudeau", Pena Nieto added.

Trump and Pena Nieto have yet to meet in person since Trump became president previous year.

Manchester City boss fears Premier League title collapse
I don't know about Swansea if he will be ready, so hopefully for the last games if we need him and then for the World Cup ". Guardiola claimed he has only 14 frontline players available, though only named a few of those out.

Trudeau also said the NAFTA talks had reached a "positive momentum".

He says President Donald Trump is sending his regrets that he couldn't attend the summit. Last weekend's suspected chemical attack killed 40 civilians, including women and children.

In condemning the US-led attack, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad insisted on Saturday that the missile strikes would only strengthen his nation's resolve to keep its fight against Western-backed terror groups and "crush terrorism in every inch of the nation".

Pence, however, justified the attack by merely stating that the U.S. did not act alone, claiming that other leaders at the Latin American summit had both publicly and privately expressed support for the Syria bombardment.

For Pence, the calls and schedule changes served as the latest example of his supporting role here in place of Trump, who pulled out of the summit so he could manage the US response to the suspected chemical attack in Syria.

There had been hopes leading up to this weekend's summit that an agreement might be signed, but that did not happen and instead, USA negotiators softened their demands on autos even as Trump said he will to renegotiate "forever".
