David Apol, acting director of the OGE, wrote that Pruitt's actions "raise concerns and may constitute a violation of the States of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch" as well as President Trump's ethics pledge (via The Hill).

Lankford, who authors an annual report on wasteful government spending, called Pruitt a "dedicated public servant" during his introduction, saying Pruitt "respects the importance of our federalist foundation and the pocketbooks of hardworking families".

"The American public needs to have confidence that ethics violations, as well as the appearance of ethics violations, are investigated and appropriately addressed", Apol wrote in the letter released publicly on Monday.

An editorial in The Washington Post said it is time for Scott Pruitt, the embattled US Environmental Protection Agency administrator, to resign.

The internal review said an earlier threat assessment by Pruitt's security team "does not employ sound analysis or articulate relevant "threat specific" information appropriate to draw any resource or level of threat conclusions regarding the protection posture for the administrator". Trump, however, said last week Pruitt was "doing a great job", and signaled Pruitt would remain in his current role.

The EPA official in charge of investigating threats ― assistant inspector general for investigations Patrick Sullivan ― would not specify the number of threats that had been logged against Pruitt. The OGE does not have authority to take action with respect to any possible violation, according to CNN.

One of Pruitt's "dumbest" costs to taxpayers, Oliver joked, was a$2,460 fix at his apartment when Pruitt was found unresponsive.

The Recent Attack In Syria Got Headlines, But Others There Haven't
Referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin , he added: "Everybody's going to pay a price - he will, everybody will". "He will. The Trump administration has also asked the United Nations Security Council to authorize an independent inquiry into the attack.

Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming said Pruitt has accomplished key priorities as EPA head, mainly in reversing "punishing regulations" imposed under President Barack Obama.

With the Left eager to push him out, Pruitt has made headlines in recent weeks over allegations he got a cut-rate condo rental from the wife of an energy lobbyist; used a back-door allowance to get raises for two deputy officials; and reassigned members of his security detail after he didn't like their advice. More than ever, it is clear that Pruitt is unfit to serve.

The agency's ethics officials searched for rates on Airbnb and Zillow and found that the rate of $50 a night was market value. In all, Pruitt paid $6,100 to use the room for roughly six months previous year, according to canceled checks with irregular dates, sometimes coming six weeks apart.

That's on top of previously ongoing investigations into the administrator's outsized travel spending and purchase of a $43,000 soundproof privacy booth purchased for the administrator to make private phone calls.

"This is kind of an unprecedented situation as far as I know", Jennifer Kaplan, a spokeswoman for the EPA Office of Inspector General, told BuzzFeed News, referring to the unusual way the request landed on the IG's desk after originating with the Office of Government Ethics and then getting bounced off EPA's ethics office.

Officials speaking on behalf of Pruitt have frequently cited to alleged death threats against him when pressed to account for the unprecedentedly expensive-and oftentimes lavish-spending requests issued by Pruitt and his inner circle.

"Pruitt.has fought against federal overreach", Inhofe wrote.
