Mueller Probing Ukrainian's 2015 Donation to Trump Foundation

10 April 2018, 07:22 | Marta Robbins

"We'll see what happens

According to reports on the raid, Mueller found information on Cohen's dealings with Stormy Daniels over the course of the Russian Federation investigation, which the special counsel gave to NY federal prosecutors and the Trump-appointed USA district attorney.

Agents from the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of NY raided the NY hotel room of Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen earlier today, acting on a referral from the FBI, Cohen's lawyer said in a statement.

"Why do not I simply fireplace Mueller?" requested Trump, repeating a reporter's query to him Monday evening. "Well, I think it's a disgrace what's going on - we'll see what happens". "Many people have said, 'you should fire him.' Again, they found nothing, and in finding nothing, that's a big statement".

Trump blasted the Mueller team as "the most conflicted group of people I've ever seen", labeling a lot of them as Democrats and saying the few Republicans had worked for President Barack Obama. In exchange for that payment, Trump made an appearance at a conference about Ukrainian politics.

Trump vented from the Oval Office that Mueller's investigators were "going too far" and conducting "their witch hunt" to undermine his presidency, according to three people familiar with the president's views but not allowed to discuss them publicly.

"If [the president] is thinking of using the Federal Bureau of Investigation raid to fire Special Counsel Mueller or otherwise interfere with the chain of command in the Russian Federation probe, we Democrats have one simple message for him: don't", Schumer wrote.

Michael Avenatti, a lawyer for Daniels, said in an email that Cohen "has been placed in the crosshairs by Mr. Trump". If the President attempts to fire Special Counsel Mueller, or impede his investigation in any way, it would be a clear attempt to obstruct justice and undermine the rule of law. I said, that is really now in a whole new level of unfairness. The referral to the US attorney in the Southern District of NY was approved by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Instead, with reporters in the Cabinet Room and cameras rolling, Trump opened the meeting with an unprompted four-minute critique of Mueller's investigation. Ryan called the raids "completely inappropriate and unnecessary" and said they led to the "unnecessary seizure" of documents protected by attorney-client privilege.

Maurillia also talked to Meghan about the windy weather and congratulated her on the upcoming Royal Wedding next month. While the reported performers are all British talents, it is not implausible for Jennifer Hudson to get the royal gig.

"My message to Mueller tonight is simple: if you have evidence of collusion, any at all, show it to us or end this partisan investigation".

If the Donald ever had any inclination to fire Robert Mueller, now is the time.

Trump responded to the raid by calling it a national "disgrace" and asking why legal action isn't being taken to investigate his other political enemies.

There have been few signs that Mueller was interested in investigating the payment, though.

"We are a nation of laws", said Cicilline, in a news release.

A supply near the White Home additionally agreed with Trump's tackle the alleged bias of Mueller investigators, saying that "the hiring of all these Clinton folks for Mueller's crew was not an accident".

Cohen, a longtime lawyer for the Trump Organization, paid $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford, an adult film actress known as Stormy Daniels.
