In 2015, Wang quit his job to become a taxi driver so he could hand out information cards about his missing daughter.
Wang Mingqing and his wife Liu Dengying had been searching for their daughter after she went missing from a fruit stall. Since then, her parents had searched all over the city for her.
When he was back minutes later, his daughter was nowhere to be found, Chinese media reported. Wang Mingqing's daughter went missing on January 8, 1994. He put up a sign on his vehicle requesting people for information on his daughter.
Mr Wang did not have a picture of Qifeng as a toddler so he used a picture of his other daughter in his leaflets, as they looked similar.
However, last year, a police sketch artist made a decision to help the family by drawing a picture of what Qifeng may look like as an adult. She was told by her adoptive parents that she was found on the side of the road in Chengdu as a child.
His story went viral in 2017 and when Wang Qifeng read about it in the media, she began to suspect that the girl in question might be her. Qifeng contacted her father and their DNA was confirmed as a match on Sunday. The parents tried everything to find her, including putting out ads in newspapers, but her whereabouts remained a mystery.

Kang Ying could not deny the similarities between the sketch and her face.
"Daddy loves you", Wang cried as he hugged his daughter.
"I can't tell you how much hope, disappointment and despair we have gone through these past 24 years. But now, finally, we are going to meet", the father said with tears in his eyes ahead of the meeting.
