Stephen Colbert: Stormy Daniels couldn't be more Trump's type 'if she was a fish filet wrapped in 100 ruble bill'
Last night on The Late Show, hostStephen Colbert brought up the president of the United States in his opening monologue. Colbert was confused by Trump declaring, "And it was about us".
"Fake news. I take everything back!"
Determined to find a way to be "off the grid" and "defend your privacy", Colbert jokingly announced he is launching a new service dubbed, "Amishbook", which is "everything about Facebook except the electricity". "I apologize. Donald Trump is a great President", Colbert said during his insincere mea culpa.
"Wait, I haven't seen it yet, but "Roseanne" is about the Trumps?" This stems from a CNN news article that was mistakenly titled "Look Who's Playing Bolton on SNL", and to make matters worse, the article attached a photo of Colbert and Dana Carvey.
CNNissued a correction on their website Friday. "Wow that's gotta sting", Colbert said.
"Come on, CNN - this isn't SNL", he continued, as the audience applauded and roared with laughter.
Colbert then explained to CNN how they could differentiate The Late Show with SNL. It also was taped during the day and is not live.
Colbert bragged that he doesn't actually have a Facebook account of his own - "You know nothing about me, Suckerberg!" - but noted that some of his staff have pointed out to him some of the sneakier things Facebook does with user information. Earlier in the show, Colbert pointed out Trump's speech on infrastructure in OH, replaying an old clip of Trump saying he was always the "best" at building - even better than being president. But in the end, the Late Show host was just happy to be a part of the news cycle, saying, "Still, it's nice just to be recognized".
