Students were kidnapped from the Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi Nigeria
"From the AI report, it is clear that if the troops guarding the area, under the command of the Buhari-led Federal Government, were not withdrawn, and if President Buhari had effectively monitored the situation and implemented the Safe School Initiative, introduced in the wake of the 2014 Chibok abduction, the Dapchi schoolgirls would not have been abducted".
He added that Amnesty International has failed to answer a number of questions, including which security force units allegedly had advance warning of the attack and why the group failed to give its findings to a group probing the abduction.
"It is not proper for an organisation like AI who do not meant well for Nigeria going by their previous reputation of denigrating the security forces anytime they make gains against the forces of evil to incite the Nigerian public and global community against the military".
It said the military's decision meant "the closest personnel were based one hour's drive" from the town. "Why was it made a decision to withdraw troops?", Ojigho asked.
No fewer than 2,000 armed police men have been deployed to schools as part of the measures to enhanced protection in public schools in the North East.
"And what procedures are supposed to be followed in response to an attempted abduction?"
"AI always brings out damming reports about the Nigerian military at strategic points".
Boko Haram militants invaded Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School in Dapchi, Bursari local government area of Yobe on Monday, February 19, 2018, and abducted 110 schoolgirls.

During the attack, which took place until around 7:30 PM, army officials in Geidam and Damaturu were again alerted, Amnesty International reports.
The IG would also have meetings with various stakeholders engaging in the fight against Boko Haram with a view to support them. The military commander responded by saying he was aware and monitoring it, the sources told Amnesty.
"This often time results, in a heightened tempo of terrorism in the the northeast, as we see the role of amnesty worldwide, as such that gives commendation and undeserved protection, to these criminal gangs, terrorising our people".
The Military has said it is determined to end the activities of the Boko Haram terrorists in spite of accusation by the Amnesty International to distract it.
"The government's failure in this incident must be investigated and the findings made public - and it is absolutely crucial that any investigation focuses on the root causes".
Nigeria's government past year freed five top Boko Haram commanders in exchange for the release of 82 of the Chibok schoolgirls.
"And so, could not have ignored warning of Boko Haram attack only to work tirelessly to get the girls back".
Also, the Yobe State Commissioner of Police, Sunmonu Abdulmaliki, yesterday denied reports that it was complacent in the kidnapping of the Dapchi schoolgirls.
The report quoted Osai Ojigho, Nigerian chief of Amnesty International, calling for an investigation into the "inexcusable security lapses" that let the abduction occur and urging Abuja to ensure the girls' prompt release.
