United to use tags for pet carriers after dog death

A dog died on a United Airlines plane Monday night after a flight attendant ordered its owner to put the animal in the plane's overhead bin. United said Tuesday that it took full responsibility for the incident

Senators John Kennedy, a Republican, and Catherine Cortez Masto, a Democrat, said the legislation would direct the Federal Aviation Administration to create regulations to prohibit the storing of a live animal in any overhead compartment and to impose civil fines for violations.

The Chicago-based airline said a flight attendant who ordered the passenger to put her pet carrier in the overhead bin aboard a Houston-to-New York flight Monday didn't know there was a dog inside. "At this point, all I can do is be hopeful that my dog is going to be OK and will return safely". Witness Maggie Gremminger told NBC News she remembered it as a "triggering moment where it didn't feel right".

The family says they heard Kokito barking for two hours, then he stopped. They say they wanted to check on him, but couldn't.

"He was just asking for help", Sophia said.

Gremminger said she saw Robledo on the floor, rocking and crying.

United says the flight attendant may not have heard or understood the carrier had a dog in it and "did not knowingly place the dog in the overhead bin".

Both Hobica and Charles Leocha, president of the airline passenger advocacy group Travelers United, think the company's leadership has created a culture where employees are treated poorly, which leads to bad customer service.

The ordeal began Tuesday when Kara Swindle went to retrieve Irgo at a United Airlines cargo facility in Kansas City.

Broadcom to redomicile in US
The letter, which was dated Sunday, said that Broadcom "took a series of actions in violation" of a previous order from Treasury. There are concerns that the takeover could decrease the competitive advantage of the the wireless technology sector.

The dog flew from OR to Denver, where he spent the night. "I'll never fly United", she tells TMZ.

United Airlines last month refused to let a passenger's "emotional support" peacock get on a flight in New Jersey.

"This was a tragic accident that should never have occurred, as pets should never be placed in the overhead bin". They're trained to know what's safe and not safe during flight.

"There were two people behind us who said they had the same dog, and they were like, 'You shouldn't do's not common to do this, '" Sophia said.

A matter of days after a dog died in an overhead carrier on a United flight, the troubled airline has failed another family pet with a shocking mistake.

In fairness, the airline in recent years has also been the largest transporter of animals - mostly dogs and cats, but also more exotic pets such as birds and geckos.

The actions came after a United flight attendant insisted that the French bulldog's owner, Catalina Robledo, put her pet, which was in a dog carrier case, in an overhead storage bin during the three-and-half-hour flight from Houston to NY on Monday.
