Trump fires Secretary of State Tillerson

Trump fires Secretary of State Tillerson

Last September, two months after Trump's decision, Tillerson said the US would consider staying in the accord "under the right conditions".

It is unclear how Mike Pompeo becoming USA secretary of state may affect the Iran nuclear deal given that there is only one voice that counts in President Donald Trump's administration: his own. The White House stated that Tillerson had been informed of the president's decision last Friday, but Goldstein's dispute of that claim and the close proximity to Tillerson's firing to his Russian Federation remarks fuel speculation that his comments on Monday contributed to his termination.

The Secretary of State went on record to say that he favoured talks with the North. Trump retorted: "Don't waste your time".

"Pompeo, coming in from the Central Intelligence Agency, is up to speed on this, and that's very important for Trump to have", he said.

Tillerson's insult to Trump's intelligence came after heated discussions about Afghanistan policy, in which Trump had pushed to end the US presence altogether and flirted with outsourcing the military counterterrorism campaign to private contractors.

Iran agreed before Mr Trump took office to curb its nuclear programme in exchange for the easing of economic sanctions.

Expected to be released, will Seahawks pursue Ndamukong Suh?
Suh has been named First-Team All-Pro four times and appeared in five Pro Bowls during eight seasons with the Lions and Dolphins . According to a report from ESPN's Jeff Darlington , the Miami Dolphins plan on releasing star Ndamukong Suh "as early as today".

On Monday, the day before he was sacked, Tillerson said the poisoning of an ex-spy in Britain "clearly came from Russia" and "will trigger a response". Certainly not the diplomats and experts whom he ignored and undermined. "And that was a total mystery because the people at the State Department would work for the devil if he is advancing American interests, which Mr. Tillerson was".

While State Department officers may be pleased to have a new boss who has the president's ear, they will be watching closely to see if he breaks with Tillerson's much-criticized approach of relying on a tight inner circle of aides and marginalising many career diplomats. More recently, reports indicated that Tillerson was shocked to hear about Trump's planned meetings with North Korea.

Tillerson was aghast at Trump's threats of war against the Kim Jong Un regime. Trump was slower to embrace that hard line, though he said after a Tuesday phone call with British Prime Minister Theresa May that Russian Federation needed to provide "unambiguous answers" about the incident, adding that whoever was responsible should face consequences. "What is most important to his to ensure an orderly and smooth transition during a time that the country continues to face significant policy and national security challenges", Tillerson said.

"The North Koreans see in the Trump administration a political landscape that they can identify with", he said. Now it will be taking cues from the man who tried to warn them about this.

However, Evans Revere, a former senior US diplomat who dealt with North Korea under former President George W. Bush, said Pompeo's "partisanship" was a cause for concern. "President Trump's actions show that every official in his Administration is at the mercy of his personal whims and his worship of Putin".
