When Suh likely hits the open market later this week - free agency officially begins Wednesday at 4 p.m. - he'll immediately become one of the top players available.
Suh posted a video on Twitter early Monday from Seattle, where he said he was on his way to work out and that people should look for some "exciting news" later in the day.
Suh has been named First-Team All-Pro four times and appeared in five Pro Bowls during eight seasons with the Lions and Dolphins.
Suh's on-field persona was at times nasty and his off-field persona was at times disagreeable. The Rams have added several key defensive players to their team, with All-Pros Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters, as well as cornerback Sam Shields this offseason. He'll just have to do it for a decent price, not the absurd six-year, $144.375 million deal he signed back in 2015. If the Dolphins make him a post-June 1 cut, they will clear $17 million in cap space.
The move is being made even though Suh is still one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL.
Darlington notes the move is part of a "culture change" in Miami, the latest in a growing line of big-name departures from the Dolphins.
Timmons' release leaves $7.25 million in dead money on the team's salary cap. The question is where will he end up playing in his ninth season in the league.
Suh, 31, has never won a playoff game, and with him last year, Miami finished 14th in run defense and 26th in sacks last year. That is not to say that either Landry or Suh did but neither of them were/are leaders.
The rookie in front of Tiger Woods has nothing to lose
Three birdies and one bogey in the final 10 holes saw him keep his slender lead as he searches for a maiden PGA Tour title. Woods expects a tough battle for victory on Sunday, when he can once again expect to be followed by huge crowds.
Manchester United vs Sevilla
Their recent home wins against Chelsea and Liverpool have all but cemented their Champions League spot for the next season. Midfielder Paul Pogba remains a doubt, however, as United try to capitalise on the 0-0 draw in the first leg in Spain.
The "New" American Idol Is the Same Old Song
Two years after Fox announced the cultural behemoth would come to a close after 15 seasons, here it is back again on ABC . I've had the opportunity to do some TV stuff through the years and turned it down because I always focused on touring.
