JUST IN: New dawn for Kenya as Uhuru and Raila unite
The Governor hailed the two leaders for their courage in uniting the country after a prolonged divisive electioneering period that saw Odinga lead the opposition in refusing to recognize the legitimacy of President Kenyatta.
The two share several similarities including making history as the longest serving political detainees in Kenya, with Odinga leading, after spending nine years behind bars, under retired President Daniel Moi's rule. He also said the country had a "problem" with its judiciary that needed to be fixed.
The members of the senate called on all political players to follow suit and play politics that foster unity.
The leaders said they had agreed to set up an office staffed by advisers to tackle issues ranging from opposition complaints over the election to tensions between ethnic groups and corruption.
In a statement posted in his Facebook page and on his official Twitter handle, Mr Miguna said Mr Odinga's "erratic decision to betray the fight for electoral justice" can not be justified.
The announcement came shortly before the arrival of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Kenya.
Mr Kenyatta and Mr Odinga met publicly at a funeral service where they shook hands earlier this year, but they did not have talks.
The Kanu MP at the same time told off NASA co-principals Kalozo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi over their complains that Odinga had meet with Uhuru without their knowledge.
'Raila has betrayed his supporters,' says Miguna
I will return to Kenya on March 26, 2018 so as to continue the struggle for electoral justice and the culture of impunity that both Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta now represent.
Another man, Philip Ndung'u, also seemed encouraged by the leaders' meeting. "I think the leaders want to say to [Tillerson], 'Look, we've buried the hatchet, we've moved forward".
In September, after Kenya's Supreme Court overturned President Uhuru Kenyatta's election victory and ordered a new poll, Kenyatta dismissed the judges as "wakora", meaning "crooks" in Swahili.
That's not a coincidence, said independent political analyst Martin Andati.
Odinga refused to recognize Kenyatta's win; in January, he held a rally where his supporters symbolically inaugurated the opposition leader as president.
"The U.S.is glad to see Kenya building investor confidence because that will help in the growth of the economy", Tillerson said.
While Andati called the agreement on unification significant for healing Kenyan politics, the devil will be in the details.

Brighton pile the pressure on Wenger as Arsenal lose again
Instead Arsenal betrayed the defensive frailties that have been a feature of their campaign and allowed Brighton to take control. They face a resurgent AC Milan side in the round-of-16 this week and the Premier League outfit are very much the underdogs.
