Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers allegedly took down the statue of Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin in Tripura last week after the saffron party registered a resounding victory in the state Assembly elections 2018. DMK leader MK Stalin demanded that Raja be arrested while MDMK, CPM and CPI too demanded action against him. The crime was seen as another wrong manner in choosing to celebrate, and the criminals were reported and arrested by the police. He stated that there is no need to deploy police for protection of PeriyarStatue.
