McDonald's bringing back Szechuan sauce again

McDonald's Is Releasing A Podcast About The 'Rick And Morty' Sauce Riots

The news was announced by McDonald's as part of a somewhat freaky campaign for a dipping cause, with the chain launching a website called We Want The Sauce to not only confirm the re-release of the sauce but also launch a podcast all about the condiment, dubbed The Sauce.

26, the golden arches will again serve Szechuan sauce across all US locations - and this time there will be a supply of 20 million packets.

McDonald's is bringing back Szechuan sauce (again) and this time, the company appears to have learned from last year's ugly sauce debacle. "That's my one-armed-man, Morty!" a raging Rick tells his frightened grandson.

McDonald's is determined to squeeze every last drop of sweet, tangy publicity out of its Szechuan Sauce. "Between the costumes, the memes and the cross-state travel, you, the fans, showed us what you got", the statement read.

Right now, McDonald's is all about that sauce; the now-infamous Szechuan Sauce, which was little more than a forgotten '90s Disney tie-in until an Adult Swim cartoon made it the center of social media hysterics and near riots.

Nikki Haley to Palestinians and the United Nations : 'I will not shut up'
Israeli forces rounded up 20 Palestinians in overnight raids across the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to the Israeli military on Wednesday.

McDonald's then reintroduced the sauce in October, but its release was clouded by chaos at stores as fans protested over a lack of supply.

McDonald's is even going to have some fun with the sauce's return, including hosting a three-part podcast series called "The Sauce" sharing stories from the previous release.

However, when the big day arrived, fans were left disappointed when McDonald's did not provide enough to meet the demand. The diehard fans, some of whom had shown up at the locations as early as 4 a.m., were furious at McDonald's. The sauce disappeared with the promotion but was revived a year ago by acclaimed animated sci-fi Rick & Morty.

Beginning at lunchtime on Monday, it's back on the menu everywhere, including in Lexington.
