Flood Warning Issued in Western Ontario

Flooding concerns on Grand River

About 2 to 4 inches of rain, or more, could fall in the next day and a half as a cold front moves through the region, he said.

The rain and warm temperatures will accelerate the snow melt, creating the possibility of flooding, NBC Chicago reported.

Rain is expected to keep things soggy through Wednesday, said Alex Manion, a meteorologist with the weather service in White Lake Township.

Oneida County is under a flood watch, though the Cortland area is not expected to see much in the way of flooding.

Ice storm warning issued for Kansas City area Tuesday
The beneficial rain could total as much as 5 inches by the start of next week, which would significantly help the drought. Rain and drizzle will begin in Central Kansas around midnight and continue into mid-morning Tuesday .

Minor flood is already occurring in the Maumee River, and is expected to continue, especially near Defiance.

Flood waters could reach the Green Street area in Ottawa, according to National Weather Service forecasts. "If you live in an urban area with a lot of concrete or a poor drainage area, flash flooding is definitely going to be a concern".

Additionally, Dane, Green, Rock, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties are included in a flood watch from 6 p.m. Monday through 6 a.m. Wednesday. Rain was rather limited but that will change Monday night and Tuesday. Low lying and poor drainage areas prone to flooding will be most susceptible. "The southern ArkLaTex rainfall totals look to be 1-3". All Flood Watches have been canceled in favor of Flood Warnings. More possible heavy rain will arrive Friday and Saturday.

Warmer temperatures melting the snow and repeated downpours will elevate the risk of flash, urban and river flooding across southeast MI.
