A snow shower is also expected overnight, however there will be heavier bursts from tomorrow afternoon.

Over the weekend reported that a yellow weather warning for snow and ice had been issued by the Met Office and covered between 9pm on Monday 5th February and 3pm on Tuesday 6th February.

"As rain, sleet and snow clears Northern Ireland and Scotland overnight Monday, ice may form on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths", reads the warning on the Met Office website.

The Met Office says between 0.5cm and 3cm of snow could fall in the region but some places above 200m could see between 7cm and 10cm of snow.

What has been forecast as the coldest week of winter is about to get a lot more snowy.

The yellow weather warning means be aware, although the forecast suggests heavy snowfall on Tuesday. Rain, sleet, and snow arriving in the northwest in the hours before dawn.
