Spotify Tests a New Easy Playlist Listening App
03 February 2018, 01:44 | Francis Delgado
Spotify has a new app called
"When you have access to all the music in the world, finding the right thing to play can feel like a challenge", saysSpotify.
In the app description, Spotify explained that like its core service, Stations will offer some personalization element as users listen to their favorite music. The app is now incompatible with some key Android devices, including Google's Pixel phone, and had been downloaded less than 100 times at the time of writing. After a while, the app does begin to learn what you like and suggests playlists but it gives you absolutely no freedom to choose your own music and search for songs. If you're looking for ad-free listening, then, you might want to stick with Spotify proper for the time being. "SpotifyStations" is flawless for anyone who wants to pull up a playlist or set a mood quickly, with very little effort.
The app appears to be a streamlined, though somewhat watered-down version of Pandora. You switch between them by scrolling; Spotify specifically calls out that no typing or searching is necessary to use Stations.
There once was a time when Pandora was the king of online listening, as it provided its users with customizable radio stations based on artists, genres, songs, and other preferences.
Oil Pauses as US Output Crosses Milestone From an output perspective, the US shale sector has fully recovered from the price and output slump that started in 2014 and 2015. This is the highest level since November 1970, according to the monthly data collected by the state agency since 1920.
First discovered by Variety, Stations is only available in Australia for now. Most of the early user reviews praise the app's simplicity.
You'll instead have to rely on the app's ability to automatically generate new playlists based on your musical tastes.
