Static fire test of Falcon Heavy
SpaceX has set February 6 as the target for its Falcon Heavy launch, the first ever test flight of the new, high-capacity rocket that the company is building to allow it to send almost three times as much payload per mission into orbit.
The Falcon Heavy launch comes just over four months after the billionaire entrepreneur outlined his vision for the establishment of a lunar base and a permanent Mars colony by 2022.
Musk has said the Falcon Heavy will launch his own cherry-red Tesla Roadster into space. "Launching in a week or so".
The announcement of ticket sales follows the successful "static test" of the Falcon Heavy's engines, a crucial stage in determining that the rocket is ready to launch.
SpaceX plans to start building its first BFR by mid year.
As with all static fires of flight-proven boosters, the static fire was anticipated to last 7 seconds from the time of engine ignition to engine shutdown.
Melania Trump Will Not Be Joining Her Husband in Davos US FIRST lady Melania Trump will not accompany US President Donald Trump to a global summit in Davos this week. Daniels' real name is Stephanie Clifford . "And I was like, 'Ugh, here we go.' And we started kissing".
According to the Verge, the Falcon Heavy will carry Elon Musk's personal Tesla roadster as its virgin payload, carrying the electric vehicle into an orbit around the sun that is the same distance away as Mars' orbit.
If you've ever wanted to see a rocket launch right before your eyes and not behind a screen, now's your chance. That's three times as many engines as are on SpaceX's current workhorse rocket, the Falcon 9.
SpaceX is known for its lofty goals when it comes to timescales and its rocket launches, particularly when it comes to the Falcon Heavy.
"I love the thought of a auto drifting apparently endlessly through space and perhaps being discovered by an alien race millions of years in the future", Musk wrote.
