Rose McGowan Shades 'Fancy People Wearing Black' at the Golden Globes
"It's really scary, I'm having to sell my house right now to pay legal bills fighting off the monsters".
McGowan opened up last October that she had been raped by Weinstein years ago.
In an exchange with fellow Weinstein accuser Asia Argento, she said: "I have no time for Hollywood fakery, but you I love".
"The actress clarified that her financial troubles didn't arise from any disavowal of an NDA as she never signed one". Later, she pointed out that Time's Up meetings have been scheduled to take place within CAA, one of the talent agencies that she has often slammed as being an intrinsic part of Hollywood's systemic problems. I am just one of so many.
She further conveyed, "I thought I remember refusing that".

Rose McGowan - the writer, director, activist, and former actor who has led the charge against Harvey Weinstein - appeared Tuesday at the Television Critics Association Press Tour to talk about Citizen Rose, the upcoming E! docuseries that has chronicled her life in its eventful recent months. "I'm down with calling this reality because this is mine". Not at Argento but at pretty much everyone who kept quiet and didn't lift a finger.
"Citizen Rose" premieres Tuesday, January 30 at 8 p.m. on E! as a two-hour special. Weinstein has denied her claims and now McGowan reveals she's going broke as she attempts to cover her legal fees, related to the matter.
The name Weinstein can't be mentioned in conversation with McGowan. It's not important for me to be seen as anything; I'm happy to live a private existence ... But with the show, which will be aired globally, "I'm just trying to stop global rapists and child molesters, it's as simple as that".
To those who have told her that she is fortunate to have a platform, McGowan says she responds, "Do you understand what I've been through for 20 years?" My brand is raw and it's true.
As an executive producer on "Citizen Rose", McGowan also said she's using her decision-making power to hire more women behind the scenes, including a team of female editors. Directly addressing the reporters on hand, she continued, "That is what a lot of people in your job have done to me for years-and they were paid to do it".
