Mild day to prep for storm Friday afternoon

Freezing rain, snow, wintry mix in today's forecast

By Friday evening, precipitation will be all snow.

Around 3am on Thursday morning, the National Weather Service will invoke a Winter Storm Warning for the entire broadcast area. Mixed precipitation will create hard travel conditions.

SUNDAY: Partly to mostly cloudy with snow showers.

Winds will also play a major factor in the storm system. Snowfall of 4 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are possible. Along with the snowfall, blowing and drifting snow could make travel hazardous with near blizzard like conditions. As high pressure slides off the coast, we will have a brisk south wind.
