This year, you can say hello to Project Linda, a laptop powered entirely by the Razer Phone. The Razer Phone docks easily into Project Linda and connects with a simple key press, seamlessly integrating the devices. The 13.3-inch display is a Quad HD touchscreen with 120 Hz refresh rate. Alternatively, when docked, you can use the Razer Phone as a trackpad, rather than a second screen. There is 200GB of storage space inside the laptop, plus a 53.6Wh battery that not only drives the screen and keyboard, but can charge a docked Razer Phone over three times without connection to a power supply.
Razer isn't the only company trying to expand the capabilities of Android smartphones.
Netflix and Razer just announced a new partnership that will bring HDR10 and six-channel Dolby Digital Plus 5.1- certified video content to the Razer Phone following an exclusive agreement between the two companies. It is a notebook that is able to accommodate the Razer Phone and allows you to improve your productivity and workflow with the phone docked into an empty station that is present in the notebook itself.

The most interesting aspect of Project Linda is how it puts the Razer Phone to use.
When set up, the Razer Phone acts as a touchpad and even a secondary display for Project Linda. There's no speakers in the laptop dock, instead the dual front-firing speakers of the phone will provide the required audio experience.
As with all prototypes, Razer isn't discussing possible release dates or price points just yet. The device is clearly aimed at the massively popular smartphone gaming market, and aligns with Razer's coin-based microtransaction business, especially in regions like China that embrace both mobile and browser-based gaming. Hopefully it'll spur other manufacturers to start thinking about their phones in a similar way, especially as - for a lot of people - a smartphone is their only connection to the internet.
