President Trump says his "Fake News Awards" will be handed out a nine days later than initially planned, due to higher-than-anticipated interest.
Trump, a frequent critic of the mainstream press, last week said he would be announcing, "THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR", and that subjects would cover, "Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media".
On 3 January Mr Trump said he would be announcing "THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR" on Monday 8 January at 5.00pm.
Mr Trump's awards have been met with widespread mirth with U.S. talk show hosts offering themselves up for consideration for the awards.
"What an honour to be fake considered along with @StephenAtHome @iamsambee for the fakest media awards". He added that the victor of such an award should get a "fake news trophy". "Stay tuned!" he tweeted.

We're also very appreciative of our Model 3 customers, who continue to stick by us while patiently waiting for their cars. Tesla did note that it made as many Model 3 cars by December 9 as it had in the previous four months combined.
The details of the president's announcement about such unprecedented awards was unclear, and came in between tweets threatening the use of a big nuclear button against North Korea and touting Fox News' Sean Hannity's 9 p.m. show. "Victor to receive the FAKE NEWS TROPHY!" "And we want to hear from you", it said.
He, however, excluded Fox News, his favourite news channel. "There's no point in pretending that some journalists are anything more than peddlers of falsehoods and liberal propaganda".
