Head coach of the Black Stars, James Akawsi Appiah says Mohammed Salah deserves to win the CAF African players of the year award.

Egypt coach Hector Cuper, who will lead the Pharaohs at Russian Federation 2018 this summer, took home the coach of the year award, while his team also won the team of the year award.

Salah played a key role in Egypt's Africa Cup of Nations campaign a year ago, where the North Africans reached the finals and lost to Cameroon.

Salah scored 38 goals and made 16 assists over the course of 60 appearances for club and country and was also named the BBC African Player of the Year last month.

Computer Glitch Paralyzes Customs Processing at US Airports
Line is a few 100 deep. "Happy New Year!" said Jessica Yang, a program manager at Microsoft, in a Twitter post. The outage affected passengers at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports, said Port Authority spokesman Rudy King.

Salah will miss the game through a groin injury, but Mane could well play. He netted the stoppage time penalty against Congo, which sent the Egyptian team to the world cup competition.

The striker at the event in Accra, Ghana said the Award was "a dream come true" for him.

Since his move to Liverpool from Italian side AS Roma in the summer, Salah has been a key part of the side's attempts to retain a top-four finish for the 2017-18 season - and the Champions League football that that brings with it. Egypt was named National Team of the Year, alongside its Argentinian manager, Hector Cuper, who was voted Coach of the Year. His hard work is definitely paying off and he could become just the second Egyptian to win the coveted African player award after Mahmoud El Khatib, who won in 1983.

Salah was transferred from Roma, Serie A, after a short stint (2014-15) at Chelsea.
