Thiem feels Djokovic could make the same impact as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who came back from injuries this year.

"It's pretty unbelievable to play Serena and it's a great place to be here".

The 2018 Australian Open kicks off in almost two weeks with Williams expected to participate.

"It's too tough. I think everybody can look forward to a great and tense start of the season".

"I want to be competing hard and trying to win the Australian Open in January".

He added: " The club decides which bid they accept, the player decides whether or not he goes to that club ". "Everybody comes to try to see this team giving everything, trying to win points and games".

Four months after giving birth to daughter Alexis Olympia and less than a month after returning to proper training, the 23-time Grand Slam champion took on last year's French Open victor Jelena Ostapenko in an exhibition clash in Abu Dhabi.

Williams admitted her mind wandered to her child, Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr., during the match.

Another player in the field looking to build on his successful 2017 is South African Kevin Anderson.

"It is dubbed an "exhibition", but the tennis this week in Abu Dhabi is great - it is very competitive and everyone is going to give it their all".

"I was hitting the ball well from the first practice but the thing is that your muscles, and bone structures and ligaments and joints", said Djokovic, who has slipped down to world No. 12 following his enforced break. I felt great on the court, the surface feels great for my game. We all are eager to see what Novak is going to do when he comes back.

"It's been a really roller coaster ride for me for a year and a half with this (elbow) issue.I've never had surgery in my life, I've never had any major injuries that kept me away from the tour for such a long time".

"I think it'd be absolutely remarkable if she does - it would be one of the quickest comebacks ever", Australian No. 3 Stosur said before practising at the Queensland Tennis Centre.
