WhatsApp will cut support for Windows Mobile, Blackberry OS in 2018

How To Delete Messages On WhatsApp

Social networking application Whatsapp says it will stop support for customers using Nokia, Windows and Blackberry phones along with the mobile phones running old software versions after December 31.

The company is also abandoning all phones running BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, and Window Phone 8.0 on December 31, 2017. WhatsApp has also indicated that some features may stop functioning at any time since they have stopped actively developing for these platforms.

"These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future".

WhatsApp has recommended that those who will be affected by the discontinued service should upgrade to a newer handset in order to continue using the messaging tool.

WhatsApp is removing itself from old and unpopular platforms to focus on the duopoly of Apple and Android.

There will be further devices affected in later years, like the Nokia S40 and any Android phone with 2.3.7 updates and older.

Google reportedly planning retail stores in India as part of Pixel push
Google has reportedly contacted at least "two prominent malls" in India to request space for a more permanent location. Apple, however, has been lobbying hard in India for single-brand retail licence to be able to open its own stores.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp will reportedly still support OS Nokia S40 until December 31, 2018, and Android 2.3.7 or older versions of the operating system until February 1, 2020. Both OS failed to compete against Android and iOS, and have been traded for better options.

This includes Android running OS 4.0 or above, iPhone running iOS 7 or above, or Windows Phone 8.1 or above. WhatsApp will not be working on your older windows phones but the devices running Windows 10 are pretty safe for now.

After extending its deadline for ending BlackBerry 10 support, WhatsApp is clearly done with the OS once and for all.

If you own a device with Blackberry OS or Blackberry 10 then WhatsApp will not be working on your phone this coming year.

Windows phone users will have no problem with the app as long as they have the newer operating systems.
