Meryl Streep 'She Knew' posters surface in LA over Weinstein reaction

Meryl Streep 'She Knew' Posters Spread In Los Angeles

"She's swiping at us so we're swiping back", Sabo told the Guardian.

Actress Rose McGowan, 44, who was among the first to speak out about the movie mogul, saying Weinstein, 65, raped her in 1997 (Weinstein has denied all allegations of nonconsensual sex), has cast doubt on Streep's claim that she did not know about Weinstein's alleged history of sexual assault and harassment.

At the weekend, McGowan hit out at reports that some actresses were planning to wear all black to next month's Golden Globes in protest against the Hollywood abuse scandal. According to her, their silence is the problem.

The posters went up near Ms. Streep's house in Pasadena, near the SAG-AFTRA building in Mid-Wilshire and across from the 20th Century Fox studio lot in Century City, The Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday. "I don't tacitly approve of rape". McGowan recently moderated a roundtable of women who have accused powerful men of sexual misconduct for New York Magazine, where she shared her thoughts on the media coverage - as seen in the above clips acquired by Today. During the candid discussion, which was filmed for NY magazine's The Cut on December 12, the women addressed the challenges and consequences they've faced since speaking out against their alleged assaulters. "He needed me much more than I needed him and he made sure I didn't know", she said.

European Union investigating Ikea tax benefits
A spokesman for Inter Ikea Group said the way it had been taxed "has in our view been in accordance with European Union rules". The Commission said it will assess whether the remuneration sanctioned under the second tax ruling reflects economic reality.

Streep issued a statement to HuffPost addressing McGowan's tweet.

Streep did not lead the charge against Weinstein-she merely applauded it from the sidelines-but the absence of a positive action should not be conflated with the presence of a negative action. If we are going to be assigning blame and calling out actors and actresses for not speaking up about what they knew (not the victims themselves, but those who heard rumors about victims), then it has to be all of them. Sharing the stage with Gloria Steinem, she said the accusations that Weinstein faces are "the most gargantuan example of disrespect" pervading all industries.

When a panelist asked McGowan if she believed change is actually happening, the former actress emphatically said, "Yes".

In her original tweet, McGowan noted that Streep worked for Weinstein (referencing him as "The Pig Monster"), and concluded by suggesting the potential protesters wear Marchesa, a fashion label co-founded by Weinstein's estranged wife, Georgina Chapman. Especially when there have already been men who have said they knew and did nothing, like Quentin Tarantino.
