Iran Likens US Allegations of Yemen Arms Supply to Iraq WMD Accusations

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley briefs the media in front of remains of Iranian

Saudi Arabia welcomed a United Nations report and a U.S. stand on Iran's missile supplies to Yemen's Houthis and demanded immediate action to hold Tehran accountable for its actions, state news agency SPA reported.

An advisory issued ahead of Haley's remarks said she would give "irrefutable evidence" that Iran has not lived up to its global obligations and has tried to cover up its actions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif took to social media Thursday to criticize a press conference held earlier in the day by USA ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley in which she attempted to establish a link between Iran and a missile fired at Saudi Arabia by the Yemeni Zaidi Shiite Muslim rebel Houthi movement, suggesting Iran continued to build missiles and offered support to militant groups overseas.

During an official visit to Saudi Arabia in May, Trump announced a $110 billion arms deal with Riyadh, said to be the largest in American history.

Haley accused Iran of supplying the weaponry, and in doing so, defying a United Nations resolution that endorsed the Iran nuclear deal.

The difference, of course, is that Haley isn't speculating about weapons Iran might have, which they could use, she's standing in front of a 30-foot long Iranian missile that was already used.

She said the transfer of these weapons into the hands of Houthi rebels is a violation of United Nations resolution 2231, which bars Iran from the "supply, sale, or transfer of arms or related materiel".

Winter weather advisory: 2-4 inches of snow tonight
Much of the area saw a fresh blanket of two to four inches of snow since Wednesday afternoon. Thursday for an area including Lehigh, Northampton, Warren and Hunterdon counties.

"Today, one of the things that we're doing with all this information is the first step of implementing President Trump's Iran strategy, which is to expose this behavior, to be clear about it, to show it to the world and be clear eyed so we can go forward together as a community, the USA and our partners in the United National in addressing the totality of the Iranian threat", said Laura Seal, a Pentagon spokesperson.

"We must speak with one voice in exposing the regime for what it is - a threat to the peace and security of the whole world".

Haley echoed Mattis' long-held position that the nuclear deal with Iran, in which sanctions were lifted in return for Iran's halt to its nuclear programs, should not be allowed to divert attention from Iran's other threats to USA national security interests.

"Nikki Haley and Washington seem to be in an unreal world, largely because they have just lost big time". As part of this agenda, the USA president raised the same missile-attack accusation against Iran just hours after the missile launch even before Saudi Arabia did so.

"The nuclear deal has done nothing to moderate the regime's conduct in other areas", Haley said. "She sees this as being very propitious for her, politically", McGovern said.

However, I support a US boycott of these games for an additional, more sinister and pervasive reason: South Koreans are dog-eaters; South Korea is a dog-eating nation.
