Soulcalibur VI Announced And Its Coming In 2018
No details were given, other than a logo on front of the teaser trailer that implied the game would be running on Epic's Unreal Engine 4. Motohiro Okubo - who produced this years' Tekken 7 - will produce the game. It marks nearly 20 years since the game originally came out on the arcades back in 1998.
Much rejoicing in the streets is taking place as Bandai Namco Entertainment announces the return of the SoulCalibur franchise with SoulCalibur VI. Watch the trailer below and see if you can spot hints of other characters. The franchise has been around for over two decades, with the popular first entry Soul Edge debuting in 1995.
The game is set for a release in 2018, and will be headed to PlayStation, PC (through Steam), and Xbox One. The latest chapter will revisit events from the original Soul Calibur to uncover hidden secrets. Interestingly enough the new game travels back to 16th century to explore the first Soul Calibur with a "diverse lineup of new and returning characters with their unique fighting styles".
There's a lot we don't know about this new installment but we'll be receiving more information as we get closer to E3 in June 2018.
Bandai Namco also released a number of screenshots showcasing Sophitia and Mitsurugi battling it out using their trademark weapons the Omega Sword and Elk Shield for Sophitia and the katana for Mitsurugi.
