In a growing tweet storm, Democratic senators were calling Wednesday (Dec. 6) for the resignation of Sen.
A half dozen Senate Democratic women called for Senator Al Franken to resign Tuesday as a sixth woman came forward to charge that the Minnesota Democrat had made an improper advance on her.
In the wake of allegations of sexual harassment and midconduct levied against Sen.
Senators Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Mazie Hirono, Patty Murray, Claire McCaskill and Maggie Hassan all issued their demands for Franken to resign on Wednesday morning. I've struggled with this decision because he's been a good Senator and I consider him a friend.
Murray, the highest-ranking woman in the Senate, wrote on Twitter that she was "shocked and appalled by Senator Franken's behavior. He has to step aside".
