The threat emerging from North Korea's rogue regime is "increasing every day", according to White House national security advisor H.R. McMaster.

"I think it's increasing every day", McMaster told Fox News' Bret Baier at the Reagan National Security Forum in California.

President Donald Trump and his administration are "begging for nuclear war", North Korea's Foreign Ministry said Saturday.

Still, the ability of the new missile to fly higher and longer than others in the past signals North Korea's intent to develop weapons capable of attacking the US.

Washington has said repeatedly that all options, including military ones, are on the table in dealing with North Korea while stressing its desire for a peaceful solution.

"The US aircraft that have landed on South Korea include six F-22s, six F-35s, six EA-18Gs", the official said.

North Korea claimed it carried out successful a missile test last week, two months after its most recent launch attempt.

That sparked a strong rebuke Friday from Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Flu season could be bad this year, experts warn
Health officials say the deaths of two people due to influenza are the first flu-related deaths in Oklahoma this season. Some people never show any signs of flu symptoms and may act as carriers of the virus, infecting their loved ones.

Commenting that the planned manoeuvre would be the "largest-ever" such drill, a spokesman for the North's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement Saturday: "The Trump team is begging for nuclear war by staging an extremely unsafe nuclear gamble on the Korean peninsula".

It was nearly 10 times more powerful than the 10-kiloton test carried out by the North past year, according to South Korean experts.

While condemning the latest test, the Kremlin's Peskov said: "We hope that all the sides involved are able to preserve calm, which is so necessary to avoid the situation on the Korean peninsula sliding towards a worst-case scenario".

He said that the United States had been "jolted" at the strengthening of North Korea's nuclear force and could attempt to commit "robber-like" provocative acts.

On the heels of Wednesday's emergency Security Council session on the test-firing, however, he could not offer new details on what the council may decide to do to in response.

The North says the Hwasong-15 missile fired on Wednesday can be tipped with a "super-large heavy warhead" capable of striking the whole USA mainland. "I think we're really running out of time".

But analysts remain unconvinced that it has mastered the advanced technology to allow the rocket to survive re-entry to the Earth's atmosphere.
