Clearing skies tonight; mostly cloudy skies push by Sunday
04 December 2017, 12:57 | Marta Robbins
Expect a high of 55 and a low around 41. Just a light breeze developing out of the northwest. The front will bring rain to the area very late Tuesday into early Wednesday. Lows in the mid 30s. Keep reading for the forecast through midweek...
Tuesday looks to be similar to Monday, but with cloudier skies. Highs are most likely in the low-to-mid 50s, though they could come in a little lower or higher depending on how much sun vs. clouds.
Tomorrow northerly breezes will push in behind the front; as a result of the passage coastal winds will range between 10-15 miles per hour. Overnight lows are mild, in the low-to-mid 40s. Those clouds are ahead of a stronger cold front that will have more of an impact on our weather later next week, both before and after it passes. Shower chances increase during the afternoon as the front closes in, and become likely during the evening and overnight.
Sunday was mostly sunny, high temperatures ranged from the middle 60s to near 70° across the Midlands. We'll stay dry throughout the day, but cloudy skies will prevail for the first part of the day.
While the astronomical winter season starts on Dec. 21, the meteorological winter season begins on Dec. 1 and runs through the end of February, because December, January and February are the three coldest months of the year.
The weather will be somewhat milder today and through the start of the coming week, but don't put away those thermals yet, as cold arctic air will be making a return by the end of the week and with it, a risk of snow in places too.
