Saleh's supporters managed on Saturday to seize control of several embassies and government buildings from the Houthis.
The United Nations released a stern warning on Friday to the Saudi-led coalition of the catastrophic consequences associated with not fully lifting the blockade on Yemen, and UN leaders on Saturday issued a joint statement calling for the full lifting of the blockade.
The call came as his supporters battled Houthi fighters for a fourth day in the capital Sanaa as the two sides traded blame for a rift between allies that could affect the course of the civil war, Reuters reported.
"It's been like a street war", they said, adding that ambulances have been ferrying the wounded to hospitals.
Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi said all those who have identified a clear position in support of the popular uprising aimed at ending the coup and the restoration of the state "will all be partners in the present and future of Yemen". He said his offer would require Riyadh to stop attacks on Yemen.
Officials working at the TV station say Houthis raided its headquarters.
Mr Hadi, in a statement after a meeting with his advisors, also said he was ready to work with Mr Saleh against the Houthis.
The missile attacks, which could further escalate the coalition's military campaign, underscore how the raging Yemen conflict is increasingly spilling across the border, threatening Saudi towns and villages.
The Saudi-led coalition had been fighting both the Shiite Houthi rebels and Saleh's party in Yemen since March 2015 to support the internationally-recognized government led by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
The head of the Houthis' Ansarullah group warned that the biggest victor from what he described as Saleh's "sedition" was the Saudi-led coalition.
"It is not unusual or surprising that Saleh turns back on a partnership he never believed in", the group's political bureau said in a statement.
Mr Saleh's GPC party accused the Houthis of failing to honour a truce and said in a statement on its website that the Houthis bear responsibility for dragging the country into a civil war.
It also called on supporters, including tribal fighters, to "defend themselves, their country, their revolution and their republic".
In response to Saleh's speech, Houthi leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi stressed the need for dialogue in another televised appearance in Saturday, and called on Saleh to "be more mature".
Saudi Arabia has been locked in a fight with the Houthi rebels since it joined the Yemen war in 2015.
