We learned that you want the flexibility to create multiple Reels and have them not expire so we’ll give you those options
As part of the update, YouTube announced that Community will also now expand to creators with more than 10,000 subscribers. YouTube doesn't provide a time frame for when it expects to introduce Reels to all of its creators. A select group of YouTube content creators will be now be able to put together multiple mini-stories that give their fans a more personal or "behind-the-scenes" look aside from the videos they upload.
YouTube presents very different reasons for the introduction of this feature from the reasons Instagram and Snapchat creators gave at the time of stories feature launch.
YouTube has added one more feature to the wardrobe of its Content creators. We're also bringing creator-focused features like linking to YouTube videos and YouTube-y stickers. However, according to TechCrunch, to make a Reel, you shoot "a few quick mobile videos of up to 30 seconds each", then you can fancy them up with filters, music, and text, and after that, you can pick a Reel to add them to - whether that be a new one or existing one.
The Community tab on YouTube is now available for all channels with over 10,000 subscribers.
Unlike stories found on other apps, these Reels don't expire, so your fans will be able to access them whenever they'd like. Talking an example, a YouTuber can create a post video Reels to a folder from an all-day event. That said, only if users start to "engage with Reels" will YouTube start considering placing them in your main home tab recommendations, according to TechCrunch.
YouTube has also made some changes to the Community tab. The Community was introduced previous year, aiming to make the platform bit more engaging for both creators and viewers. The authors of the channels in the YouTube Community, in addition to the video, can share with followers photos, gifs and text posts. However, this doesn't assure that notifications for every Community post will be received.
