The new version is basically replacing Google's version of the original emoji, which had the cheese set underneath the patty - a major "burger faux pas". Google has now corrected it and it now contains liquid all the way to the top.

Google has been facing a lot of criticism for wrongly placing the cheese on its burger emojis (yeah you read that right) but it seems that the tech giant has now finally surrendered.

Google's new emoji are being released in the new Android 8.1 software update, which is expected to roll out to devices in December - but those who've waited far too long for this moment already can check them out in the beta Developer Preview. It got intense to the point when Google CEO Sundar Pichai himself got involved, promising that they would drop everything to look into that matter (that was a joke if you didn't get it).

Sony rolls out Android Oreo update for Xperia XZ and Xperia XZs
VP of Product Management at HTC , Mo Versi, announced the Anroid Oreo 8.0 update for the phone on his Twitter handle. Well now, a company executive has said that the Oreo update will be rolling out to unlocked U11 starting today.

Well, according to Emojipedia, the hamburger emoji, now famously known as the cheeseburger, was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015. There still exist different version of this emoji outside Android, iOS and Windows Phone. The changes, including in some other emojis, came in the Android 8.1 developer preview. Samsung, for instance, has its own version of hamburger emoji.

According to Emojipedia, which first reported the change, other impending emoji updates include "beer" and "beers", soon to feature a full stein instead of a half-poured draught; as well as "cheese", which corrects a bug that places a line through holes on the edge of the wedge. In Android 8.0, the mug had a weird space between the beer and the froth, but Android 8.1 fixes that by bringing the beer all the way to the top.

The Monday after that online debate, Google even provided cheeseburgers in their staff cafeteria to help figure out where the cheese really belonged.
