New Delhi, Nov 14:An Army jawan was killed and a policeman left injured during an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

"The militants fired upon a joint party of police, army and paramilitary troopers who were deployed at a crossing to check the movement of vehicles".

According to CNN-New18, a similar encounter is in progress in Tral too, where two-three militants have reportedly been cordoned off and fire is being exchanged between the militants and the security forces. The operation has not been called off yet, Pani said.

Police said as the security forces tightened the cordon around the village, they were fired at by the militants, triggering the fighting.
