Roy Moore's brother compares sexual conduct allegations to the persecution of Jesus: report
The results also suggested that a write-in campaign by another Republican could tip the seat to Democrats - a prospect that once seemed far-fetched in deep-red Alabama.
The charge that Moore initiated sexual conduct with a 14-year-old girl when he was a 32-year-old assistant district attorney is attested to by her, on the record.
Three other womensaid that Moore asked them on dates when they were between the ages of 16 to 18, and that when two of them actually went on the dates, it never went beyond kissing.
Moore was twice removed from his state Supreme Court position, once for disobeying a federal court order to remove a 5,200-pound granite Ten Commandments monument from the lobby of the state judicial building, and later for urging state probate judges to defy the U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized gay marriage. Alabama voters who routinely cast votes for Republicans would presumably take a second look at the ballot, remember that the GOP has withdrawn its endorsement of Moore, and write in unusual instead. Second: the NRSC's preferred candidate would have been current incumbent Luther Strange, and this might free them up to help fund a Luther write-in campaign.
Attempting to pin a scandal involving one member of a party on everyone else in the party is a well-worn political tactic, though Maryland Democrats have generally not spent much time engaging with Harris.
Moore denies the allegations.
In the immediate aftermath of the Postreport Thursday, a wave of national Republican leaders called for Moore to drop out of the race if the allegations are true.
"Innocent until proven guilty is for criminal convictions, not elections", Romney tweeted, before referencing the woman who had accused Moore of inappropriate sexual contact when she was 14. Unusual filled the seat that was open when Jeff Sessions left to become the attorney general.

Senate rules empower members to police their own ranks, and Republicans could refuse to seat Moore if elected, or eject him later.
Jonathan Gray, a Republican consultant in Alabama who is not working with any of the Senate candidates this year, was more pointed: "I think it was already perfectly well stated that no one in Alabama gives a s-- what Mitch McConnell or John McCain thinks we should do". The Senate's GOP leader said if the report is shown to be true, Moore must step aside.
The race included personal appearances from President Trump, in support of unusual, and former White House strategist Stephen Bannon, backing Moore.
In the small eastern Alabama town of Heflin, a handful of people interviewed by the AP indicated they were indifferent to the allegations if not disbelieving of them. Of these, only Senators Capito and Shelby have denounced Moore's alleged behavior.
Others in Alabama came to Moore's defense.
Those who think Moore should be replaced have little hope of that happening.
The chief fundraising vehicle for Republican Senate campaigns on Friday severed its ties to Roy Moore, the party's nominee in Alabama's special election next month.
Strange avoided reporters' questions in the Capitol on Thursday, but Shelby, his Alabama colleague, said: "Luther Strange is a good senator, he's a friend, and I support him".
"Herman Cain's going up in the polls, then the day he gets out - nothing", said Hannity, referring to a wave of 2011 sexual harassment relevations that sunk the Republican businessman's presdental bid.

Total Strangers Accused of Sex on a Delta Flight
The woman was caught giving the man oral sex while still in their seats instead of least moving to the privacy of the bathrooms. Another passenger added, "If people will go so far as to disrespect themselves and disrespect you, something should be done".
