Harry Potter: Wizards Unite – Pokemon Go Dev Announces New Game
Warner Bros and Niantic are working collaboratively with Portkey Games, a fairly new game label that is dedicated to bringing Harry Potter to the real world on mobile devices. That said, it's probably safe to assume that Niantic will implement at least a few mechanics from their previous AR games, Pokemon Go and Ingress. Interactive through its new subsidiary, the appropriately named Portkey Games.
Niantic, the company behind the hit mobile gamePokémon Go, has revealed that its follow-up game will revolve around Harry Potter. Ingress is more centered on location defense and exploration than capturing Pokemon, so this would make sense for an epic fantasy franchise that pits good against evil.
Whatever the case, Harry Potter is positively rife with plenty of different characters, subjects, spells, items, and creatures to explore in a mobile game. This will be the first global-level game for the Harry Potter phenomenon / entertainment mega-force, and it'll likely pop up in as big a way as Pokemon GO.
