James Comey's Secret Twitter Account Just Revealed
The real reason Comey appears to have hit the Hawkeye State was his father-in-law's 90th birthday, according to The Des Moines Register.
After months of online speculation, former FBI DirectorJames Comey has confirmed that a "secret" Twitter account does belong to him. "Will try to tweet in useful ways", a comment sure to be interpreted as a jab at his prolifically tweeting former boss.
The post shows Comey standing in the middle of a country road, "Gotta get back to writing". Unlike Trump, Comey didn't do it by attacking people or claiming credit for the work of others (the upcoming release of the JFK assassination records Trump has been boasting about is mandated by a law signed in 1992).
Mr Comey was sacked by the USA president in May, while investigating links between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. Last week, the account posted two public tweets - an image of a kayaker at West Point, and a photo from Little Round Top, in Gettysburg, Pa., with the line, "Good place to think about leadership and values".
Comey has an obvious connection to his nom de twitter. Project Exile was a U.S. federal program that Comey helped get off the ground in the late '90s, and his chosen username, Reinhold Niebuhr, was a reference to a theologian that Comey focused on in his university senior thesis.
One of President Donald Trump's best-known adversaries dined at a must-stop steakhouse for politicos and posed for a photo along a rural road with a neatly groomed field as a backdrop, as countless White House aspirants have before him.
The account originally had the handle @projectexile7 but has been renamed @FormerBu - presumably for former bureau as in Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Benjamin Wittes later posted on his Twitter account: "Ok, in light of this latest tweet, I will confirm that @FormerBu is, in fact, James Comey himself".
All six of the tweets Comey has written since he joined Twitter in February 2014 include photos-most of which are scenic.

The Suns would get a player two years removed from averaging 17.5 ppg, one who was also a top lottery pick just three years ago. The Suns are off to an 0-3 start and are allowing the most points per game in the league at this early stage of the season.
Wet and cool weather in forecast
The warm weather will continue through the beginning of the week before a cold front moves through on Tuesday . Temperatures will only reach into the lower 60s making it feel very cool outside during the rain.
