New York Bans Vaping Anywhere Cigarettes Are Prohibited
Adding E-Cigs to the Clean Indoor Act, bans vaping everywhere cigarette smoking is already prohibited. NY created the act in 2003, making it one of the country's first states to ban smoking tobacco products in public indoor areas. According to the American Lung Association, almost three-quarters of New York's municipalities already have bans in effect. While the new law brings order to the patchwork of ordinances, manufacturers haven't been happy about the changes, touting the e-cigs and vaporizes as safe alternatives to traditional tobacco products.
"These products are marketed as a healthier alternative to cigarettes, but the reality is they also carry long-term risks to the health of users and those around them", Cuomo said in a release.
Defenders of e-cigarettes have argued that switching from regular cigarettes to electronic has helped people quit smoking altogether, though the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force concluded that evidence is insufficient to recommend e-cigarettes for smoking cessation in adults.

Electronic and vapor-delivery systems often times contain nicotine. He said that would be a way to crackdown on sales of e-cigarettes to youths. "It can contain harmful and potentially harmful chemicals, including nicotine; ultrafine particles that can be inhaled deep into the lungs; flavoring such diacetyl, a chemical linked to a serious lung disease; volatile organic compounds such as benzene, which is found in vehicle exhaust; and heavy metals, such as nickel, tin and lead". Others are California, New Jersey, Connecticut and Utah.
