Search ongoing for attacker after Munich incident
According to German media, Munich Police Chief Hubertus Andrae ruled out terrorist link and said that the attacker may have been a mental patient.
"We have arrested a suspected person".
Police arrested a man after eight people were injured in a knife attack on Saturday in the southern German city of Munich. They mainly had superficial stab wounds and in at least one case had been hit. Police said they believe it was not a terror attack, they suspect instead that the assailant had psychological problems. He was described as being unshaven, with short blond hair and a "corpulent figure".
Police spokesman Marcus da Gloria Martins said the man was arrested about three hours after Saturday morning's incident in an area near downtown Munich.
