Kiwi motorsport ace Brendon Hartley has been tipped to make his Formula 1 debut at the US Grand Prix for Toro Rosso.

Here is what the 27-year-old New Zealander had to say about the opportunity to race at the world's top level of open-wheel racing.

The Red Bull-owned Toro Rosso Formula One team could be facing yet another driver change amid uncertainty about Pierre Gasly's availability for next week's U.S.

Pierre Gasly will rejoin Honda's Mugen Racing squad to take on Toyota in one of the year's most significant bouts for the Super Formula championship.

But having won the Le Mans 24 Hour Race earlier this year and on the back of some unique circumstances at Toro Rosso out of the blue this opportunity presented itself. He is part of a trio including fellow Kiwi Earl Bamber and German Timo Bernhard that leads the World Endurance Championship but will be looking for another drive next year after Porsche's decision to withdraw at the season's end.

He can win a second World Endurance Championship with the factory Porsche team if results go his way this weekend in Japan.

Should he compete in the race he will become New Zealand's first F1 driver since Mike Thackwell in 1984.

Jets don't want to hear about Patriots' problems
Brady has thrown for 1,7-2 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only one interception this season. "He's had such a great year", Brady said . Brady has had trouble with his left shoulder several times over his 18-year career, but he has never missed a game because of it.

"The Austin track is one I really enjoy and one I have raced at recently".

And while it might seem likely that Kvyat will stay on, he has now been demoted twice by Red Bull - once from the senior team back to Toro Rosso in May 2016 and then dropped altogether after this year's Singapore event.

Russian Kvyat has since returned to Toro Rosso and will partner Hartley in Texas, after Spaniard Carlos Sainz, who has scored 48 of the Red Bull second-string outfit's 52 points so far this season, left for Renault last week.

He tested for Toro Rosso at the end of 2009 but has not driven an F1 auto since a one-day test for Mercedes in 2012.

"I've got a lot to learn in one week but I feel ready for it, honestly".

We also reported that the list of potential one-off replacements for Gasly was vast, featuring Robert Kubica, Sergey Sirotkin, Sebastien Buemi and even Takuma Sato and Indycar champion Josef Newgarden. "With all the racing experience accumulated over the years, we are convinced that he will do a fantastic job for us", he said.
