Equifax site faces another attack

Was Equifax Hacked Again?

A day after the suspected hack, multiple outlets are reporting that the malicious pop up has disappeared from Equifax's website.

Equifax did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Several hours after Goodin's piece went live, Equifax disabled the page in question, saying it was doing so out of "an abundance of caution" while it investigated the claims.

"We are aware of the situation identified on the equifax.com website in the credit report assistance link", said Equifax spokesman Wyatt Jefferies.

Equifax had last month revealed that in a hacking incident the personal information of about 145.5 million USA consumers were potentially compromised. "When it becomes available or we have more information to share, we will".

The company, whose disclosure last month sparked an outcry and a congressional investigation, issued a statement after a news report said malware was installed on one of the credit reporting agency's web pages.

Nadal demolishes Kyrgios to win China Open
Kyrgios was angered by a line call in the first set and his complaints eventually cost him a penalty point at the start of the eighth game.

Credit card numbers for about 209,000 USA consumers, and certain dispute documents with personal identifying information of 182,000 US consumers, were accessed.

For these Canadian consumers, Equifax says the information that may have been accessed includes name, address, social insurance number and, in "limited cases" credit card numbers.

The breach led to the retirement of Equifax chief executive Richard Smith, who has remained as a consultant to the company during the investigation.

The cyberattack occurred through a vulnerability in an open-source application framework it uses called Apache Struts.
