A 47-year-old man arrested at the scene of a vehicle collision near Natural History Museum in central London has been released pending investigation, Scotland Yard said on Sunday.
The Natural History Museum is the fourth most popular tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, with 4.6 million visits during 2016, according to the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions.
No one is believed to have life-threatening or life-changing injuries, and the majority were discharged by late Saturday.
A statement issued by the LondonPolice said its officers were on the scene and that London Ambulance Service had been called. "Enquiries to establish the circumstances and motive are underway", police said.
DC Darren Case from the roads and transport policing command said:"Because of where this collision occurred and the number of pedestrians involved, I fully appreciate the concern and alarm this incident caused".
The location was cordoned off Saturday by heavily armed police, the video published on social media shows.
Eleven people were injured and taken to the hospital.
While the driver of the vehicle has since been released, police are continuing their investigation into the incident and have asked any witnesses with information to come forward, specifically if they have video or photos of the crash.
Mr Oliver Cheshire, a model who is the fiance of British pop singer Pixie Lott, told the Daily Mail newspaper that he was one of those who helped to detain the man.
Security is high in Britain after five terror attacks since March - four of them in London and one in Manchester - with the bloodshed claiming 35 lives. Cheshire posted on Twitter to thank everyone for messaging him, saying he is fine.
