Jared Goff was sacked just once. In the receiving end, Brice Butler posted 90 yards and a touchdown in two receptions while Terrance Williams added 47 yards in three receptions. The Rams defeated the 49ers in a high-scoring thriller that came down to the last play with a final score of 41-39. Sean Lee, who suffered a hamstring injury in the Cowboys 28-17 win over Arizona on Monday night, was not able to recover quick enough to play just a few weeks later.
In a duel befitting two up and comers at their respective positions, both Goff and Dallas QB Dak Prescott showed that the NFC is "all good" at that position.
Though giving up 42 points to Denver in Week 1 wasn't pretty, the Dallas defense has taking meaningful steps since past year.
What the Cowboys did once the game against Arizona started could reverberate for them on and off the field. Some guys felt the need, they knelt. This was an area of concern for the Cowboys going into the season, but has seemingly been solved by Lawrence's performance thus far. He has also thrown as many touchdowns as a year ago, while committing just one turnover in the process.
As impressive as that was, had the Rams scored a touchdown instead of kicking a field goal, it would've put the game well out of reach for Dallas. Their 3rd down efficiency has also dropped from 2016, going from a 42.3% conversion rate to 34.2% this season.
Check out Wagner-McGough's full breakdown of the Rams offense here. And it's not realistic to expect Gurley to score touchdowns at this rate. That unit has to be missing Sean Lee. And if you can't watch, you can certainly listen on Sirius XM Radio.
Chargers Prepare to Face Eagles Given Rivers' history, if he throws an interception early he has a tendency to pile them up as the game goes on. The Eagles were really lucky to survive last week with that win, and the Chargers backs are against the wall.
RB Ezekiel Elliott could end up having a huge day on the ground for Dallas this Sunday.
Despite their 2-1 start, the Rams have had a few problems this season and one of those problems is stopping the run.
Elliott had 85 yards on 21 carries and backup Alfred Morris finished with 76 - 70 coming on his career-long run to set up Elliott's second TD. This will allow Dallas to control time of possession and get Elliott back on track, making him a valuable asset in all fantasy formats this week.
It will be closer than some think and the Rams will move the ball. Cowboys Cover -6 Spread. He has collected a sack and a tackle for a loss, but the Rams' defense needs more from him if they are to live up to the lofty exceptions that come when being coached by Phillips. Take Dallas (-6) in this one. The Cowboys blitz fewer times than most teams, but that could change Sunday if Los Angeles' pass protection continues to keep Goff clean.
Last preseason, this match up was the coming out party for Dak Prescott as he lit up the Gregg Williams version of the Rams defense. DE DeMarcus Lawrence had career-high three sacks against Arizona and leads National Football League with 6 1/2.
