The voters of Alabama did not elect the candidate supported by Donald Trump during a republican primary. Donald Trump was very involved in this primary runoff, and he put all of his eggs into the Luther Strange basket. The vote will be held December 12.

Moore announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat once held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions in April of 2017, and his candidacy thus far indicates he has no desire to temper his controversial rhetoric or beliefs. Bentley was removed from office after it was discovered he was using state funds to hide an affair.

This wasn't exactly the rebuke of the Trump administration that some analysts had been calling it. And, based on Moore's convincing win on Tuesday, it's uniquely possible Corker might have found himself on the wrong end of a primary. When no one emerged from the primary with a majority of the vote, the top two finishers, odd and Moore, squared off.

Alabama voted overwhelming in favor of Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential Election, but closer analysis will reveal they were voting for the idea of Donald Trump more so than the actual person.

Strange, who had the backing of the NRA and Trump, who adopted the gun lobby's views during his campaign, vowed to support Trump's agenda to take on the establishment and advance conservative issues.

Inside the White House, fingers are being pointed at Ward Baker, a McConnell strategist, and Nick Ayers, the vice president's chief of staff, both of whom were involved in pushing Trump to back unusual, according to sources.

Tom Brady posts message of 'unity' ahead of Texans game
The scariest offensive threat on the Texans is wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins , who leads the team with 14 catches and 128 yards. There have been many injuries for the Patriots in first two games of the season and the situation for them is far from ideal.

The Alabama Republican Senate race runoff happened on Tuesday, and "Big" Luther Strange was defeated by Roy Moore. But the money didn't really matter against Moore, who had spent decades cultivating a base of committed supporters who weren't swayed by the barrage of negative attacks about him on the Alabama airwaves. Of the figures of the "trumpisme" supporting judge Moore, starting with Steve Bannon, ex-advisor to the president ousted in August from the White House. Trump, multiple sources said, is furious with McConnell, and feels outdone by his former aide Bannon.

Moore alone got nearly as many votes in the first round of the Senate primary (164,524) as did the entire Democratic field combined (165,006).

They ended up being disappointed.

After Moore won, Trump congratulated him in a tweet.

"Trump can try to erase his support of odd, but under the Presidential Records Act, all his tweets must be archived (we're suing over it)", the nonprofit wrote on Tuesday.

Moore, once dubbed the "Ayatollah of Alabama" by the Southern Poverty Law Center, would later return to his post as chief justice in 2013, only to be suspended again three years later for ordering Alabama judges to continue enforcing the state's ban on same-sex marriage, despite the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in 2015 that legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states. On Monday, Moore demonstrated his support for the Second Amendment by drawing his gun at a campaign rally, a move that left Democrats with a case of the vapors. This should be the golden age for both men - a time of unified Republican rule that should allow a series of conservative principles to flower. Some have wondered, though, if Moore will be able to play well with others in the Senate should he win the general election in December.
